Celebrating 5 Years of 626 Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon

One of our favorite He Wines She Dines cabernets celebrates its fifth anniversary on June 26th. The Companion Wines 626 Lodi Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon 2019 is special not only for its smooth texture and ripe berry flavors, but for the story behind it as well. Created for our daughter Caroline's wedding, we wanted a Cabernet that was elegant and approachable, with balanced acidity and a lighter feel that could be enjoyed during celebrations with family and friends.

On this day five years ago we celebrated Caroline and her husband, Don, as they started their life together. Their wedding was beautiful, and each year we continue to talk about how every detail reflected the two. We had the pleasure of releasing our wine and serving it to the guests for the very first time. Since then, the 626 Cabernet has won several awards for the Texas Wine and Grape Growers Association (TWGGA) Lone Star International Wine Competition for the wine and label. The label is minimal, with clean typography and a restrained use of color, with the numbers “626” in a bold maroon color. As for the wine itself, it is made from 100% Lodi Cabernet Sauvignon grapes in California. It is then made to mature after fermentation in French oak barrels, providing that cherry and tobacco aroma that you will notice before taking a sip. 

Since the wedding 5 years ago, Caroline and Don have continued building their life together and welcomed their son, Daniel, to the family in late 2025.
